Mid Century Furniture Restoration Projects

Recent Restorations

My mid-century furniture restoration projects begin with a careful evaluation of each piece to determine exactly what it needs before restoration begins.  Each item is fully stripped by hand, with any loose joints repaired and structural issues addressed. Scratches, damaged veneer and other imperfections are carefully repaired while preserving the character of the original piece. Once the restoration is complete, three coats of hard wax oil are applied by hand to protect the timber and bring out the natural beauty of the grain. My projects range from Australian mid-century pieces by makers such as Parker, Fler and Chiswell to original Danish furniture, with each restoration approached according to the construction, materials and condition of the individual piece.

Have a Piece That Needs Restoring?

If you have a mid-century piece in need of restoration, send me a few photos and some details about its condition. I’ll take a look and let you know what I recommend.
